About This Activity
Prereq for all other blacksmithing classes. This is a hands-on session where students take home what they make! 
Work with a blacksmith at a forge to make a 4-sided nail. Students will develop the following skills: * Recognize heat changes by the color of the metal * Turn round stock into a square * Draw out the metal (make it longer and thinner) * Taper the metal to a tip * Hot cut the metal * Upset the metal (hit the metal back into itself) to form the head Students will learn hammer control, self control, and have a blast in the process!!
