This challenging triathlon begins about 1,500 meters offshore. Triathletes literally jump from the Jet Express ferry boat into the cool waters of Lake Erie and head to the shore of East Harbor State Park. The 40K bike course takes participants over rolling hills and through historic Marblehead Pennisula. The race ends with a 10K run over beaches, trails and jetties that will put triathletes to the test.

The SuperKid Triathlon has eight different age categories, allowing children from ages three through 15 to compete. The three-year-old competitors have a 25-yard swim in a pool, a 0.10-mile bike and a 0.05-mile run. The distances increase with age, topping out with the 13- to 15-year-old category, which includes a 300-yard swim, 3.7-mile bike and 1.2-mile run.
